
Travel ball tournaments mean long days, multiple games, and limited supplies. Forgetting key equipment 200 miles from home is something you want to prevent. A solid checklist handles that.
Individual Player
- Bat (primary) and backup
- Batting gloves (2+ pairs)
- Batting helmet (NOCSAE-certified)
- Fielding glove
- Cleats (and backup)
- Sliding shorts with cup
- Baseball pants (2+ pairs)
- Team jerseys (home and away)
- Belt and matching socks
- Sunglasses, sunscreen (SPF 30+)
- Water bottle (32+ oz, frozen night before)
- Snacks and lunch
- Eye black
- Personal first aid
- Rain jacket, extra layers
- Towel, change of clothes for after
Catcher Additions
- Catcher mitt, chest protector, shin guards, helmet with throat guard, knee savers
Pitcher Additions
- Resistance bands, arm sleeve, rosin bag, pitch count tracker
Team Equipment
- Baseballs (3+ dozen practice, 1 dozen game)
- Portable batting tee and popup net
- Team first aid kit
- Lineup cards, pencils, scorebook
- Pitch count logs, rule book
- Pop-up canopy, chairs, cooler with ice/water
- Electrolyte mix, duct tape, zip ties
- Fungo bat, cones, dry-erase board
Logistics
- Arrive 45-60 minutes early
- Know your field numbers
- Charge devices, bring portable chargers
- Bring cash for concessions
- Pack a trash bag
Post-Tournament
- Empty and air out all bags
- Wash uniforms promptly
- Wipe helmets and catcher gear
- Condition leather gloves if wet
